Artist Profile - Annelise Trelawny
Annelise Trelawny studied design at the Ecole des Arts Decoratifs in Vevey, Switzerland from 1961 - 1965. After working for a year in Geneva, she moved to London and specialized in display and shop fitting for the jewellery industry.
She studied sculpture in London at Park Road College and Brunel University and at the Malt House Studio and Shute Farm Studio in Somerset.
Her work is represented nationally by galleries in Somerset & Bath, and internationally in Geneva, She also takes part in several annual exhibitions in London & Bath.
Recent works feature semi-abstract human and animal figures, carved in stone and wood or modelled in wax or clay then cast in resin or bronze.
“My aim is to extract the subject’s essence and present it in a striking, elegant and simple form with transitions between representational and abstract compositions.”
