Artist Profile - Sue Locke

Sue Locke is a Watercolourist, Art Therapist and Woodcarver. She trained in the sixties at the Chelsea School of Art and more recently did an Art Therapy training at the Tobias School of Art in East Grindstead.

Various watercolour studies are exhibited in the studio with prices ranging from £100 to £350 along with some of her woodcarvings and alabaster pieces (studio prices on a separate sheet). She has exhibited widely in London and Hereford and enjoys the inspiration of the garden. She recently exhibited at the Hereford Tourist Office.

She works as an Art Therapist with the profoundly disabled at the Martha House Trust in Hereford and also at the Quay House Clinic. She teaches regularly and gives talks on Art Therapy to organisations such as the Red Cross and Probus.

"The inspiration for this exhibition ion the garden came from Liz Frink, who used to teach me at Chelsea Art School. her work was always in her garden in Chelsea and later, in the country. I much prefer to see sculpture in a more natural setting whenever possible, so this exhibition combines my love of sculpture with my love of gardening, and gives local sculptors an opportunity to exhibit in natural surroundings."
